Beach Huts

I'm linking in with Kat Sloma's Exploring with a Camera series.  This time the topic is 'elimination' - ways of eliminating elements of an image - by changing angle, cropping, cleaning up - in order to get a stronger image.  Kat has a great post on it here.

I am using an image I've posted before as my example.  The shot is of beach huts and I love the repeated pattern of them.  I adjusted my angle to maximise this.  Here is the original photo I took:

Lots of distractions.  To focus on the colour and pattern, I cropped the image and then cleaned it up to get the street light out of the background.

Here's the final image:

  15. Love it...the colors are fabulous and the angle is spot on. I hate all those distractions that you can't sometimes eliminate until you edit them out...thank goodness for great editing programs. Great elimination!
