Me and My Shadow

On Kat Sloma's Find Your Eye course one of the exercises was to go through your photo journals, pick whichever photo stands out at that moment and then write whatever comes into your head as you look at the photo.

Today I am tired, lacking inspiration and generally a bit below par.   Perhaps not ideal circumstances to try this exercise again but.....

This is the photo that jumped out at me today.  The empty beach, the blue sky, the beach.  And my daughter, in party wear, running free, playing with her shadow, without a care in the world.

That's where I'd like to be, that's what I'd like to be doing.  I can almost, almost smell the sea air.

I'm still tired but seeing this almost forgotten photo fills my heart with joy and makes me smile.

Happy Friday everyone, have a restful weekend. :)

  1. Great! Your photo is simple but catch so well the innocence of childhood and the feeling of freedom, no time to check, just the smell of the sea and the wind that moves your daughter's hair here and there.
It is amazing how some photos can bring peace and make us see one day under a different perspective, as we remember the instant it comes from.
    Happy Friday!

    PS: Good exercise.

  5. This is a wondrous photo of childhood joy. I love how your daughter is dwarfed by the sky and the ocean and yet, she is still the key element of the photo. Beautiful!
