Week 48 - 365

From the top:  new shoes!; the awesome treat of getting to play with granny's doll's house; a bit of sunshine for a rainy bank holiday Monday; pre-theatre supper at Wahaca on the Southbank - fantastic Mexican in temporary restaurant made from shipping crates; cafe and reading; play dates and giant lollipops; skipping along the tunnel after a trip to the Science Museum.

So, a lovely week.  Sigh.  So not ready for September and all that it brings.

But at least it's the weekend.

Have a good one.  See you next week. :)

ps (4 more of these and I've completed a 365!.  Holy Moly!)

Repetition, Repetition, Repetition

Exploring with a Camera is looking at repetition this month.  Here's what I found:

Repetition of Object

Love the shape of the signage at the Saatchi Gallery, and the repeated message it gives.

In contrast to the natural shape of the palm trees.  Though in their own way they seem to me to be shorthand for exotic, film, Hollywood (they were actually taken in Cannes).

Repetition of colour

Love this olive colour.

Repetition of Shape

Circles seem to feature in my photography a lot, whether I have styled the shot myself....

........or spotted it out and about:

Repetition of Line
Drawing the eye into the image:

Repetition of message

Guess where this is!

Repetition of light

Little mini light sources, repeated.  Love the glow they provide and the visual interest beyond the candle flame itself.

Combining elements

Love the repetition of the letter blocks and flags....with some repeated lines and light/light reflections on the buildings, drawing the eye in and giving a cohesive whole.

I didn't realise quite how much repetition I would find in my photography until I started looking and there is no doubt that repetition is a valuable way of pulling elements together into a harmonious whole.

So, last Monday I posted bubbles.  Whilst we were on holiday, we kind of raised our bubble game.  And so this Monday I bring you BUBBLES.

Proper, GIGANTIC bubbles!

Sooooooo much fun!

Happy Monday.  Go on, go blow some bubbles.  :)

Week 46 - 365

From the top:  ponies at the bottom of the garden - the view from the patio of our holiday house; Olympic rings and the end of the Olympics.  They were awesome.; drawing in the sand at the beach; tooth number 2 has gone!; rose; lunch at a lovely pub; walking to the beach.

As you can see, we've been away.  A lovely holiday with gorgeous weather.  As I made a mistake with scheduling my posts last week they were a bit thin on the ground.  Oops...but thank you for your lovely comments on the ones that I did manage to publish. :)

Hope you had a lovely week and look forward to seeing what you've been up to.

Happy Sunday. :)

Week 45 - 365

From the top:  the Lego people have been put to bed....I'm not sure how disturbed I should be that their heads have been separated from their bodies!....; the Olympics obsession continues - way to go Team GB!; a trip to the park; blackberries - always reminds me that autumn is on the way (even though summer has only just shown up); we went to see the Wizard....and it was wonderful; our very own gold medal winner - reading challenge complete; it's a lovely sunny day today and we're off for lunch with friends so I have shed my usual jeans/t-shirt combo and am feeling fancy in a dress.

I hope you've all had a great week.  Happy weekend. :)

Photo-Heart Connection - July

Doesn't this take you back?  Off together, sharing the load, looking out for each other, especially the smallest, following the path with the excitement of not being exactly sure where it leads.

Childhood adventures in a nutshell.

Makes my heart sing. :)
