Happy Halloween

By the skin of my teeth I'm linking up with Brenda's Third Thursday.  Brenda's challenge is all about trying something new and although I love textures and use them a lot, I usually stick to the soft light, lighten and brighten end of the blending modes.  Today, I spookied it up and tried out the darker ones - multiply, colour burn and I even got an exclusion in there - and I've have to say, I kind of like the effect.   Textures used are Bonnie's age it and Kim Klassen's grunged up 2.

Brenda's blog is full of inspiration so do go and check it out.  It's always good to mix things up and try something new. I'm looking forward to checking out the other entries and getting inspired for next month.

Have a spooky one.

  2. Becs - I am SO glad you joined up with us and the Third Thursday Challenge! Your example is exactly what I had in mind when I started this feature! I love the results - you have created a spooky, Halloween masterpiece with your post-processing. I'm like you - I have certain blend modes that I use - perhaps I need to add this to my list of future challenges. It is so easy to do the same thing over and over - we like the results and it is easy and comfortable. But just look at how much fun we can have if we remember to push things in a different direction. And how creative the results can be. Thank you for the lesson. And for squeaking in under the wire :)

    1. Hi Kia, I'm not really into halloween but it has taken off in the UK in the last few years and my six year old LOVES it so we had a little party for her and some of her friends. Not so spooky but lots of fun!. Lovely to see you. x

    2. Oh, that's nice. :)
The first 2 years here in Scotland, Zeno got tons of candies, but no kids came. Glad she enjoys it. :) Happy weekend ahead.
