Photo Heart Connection

I'm sitting here very very (too) early in the morning.  Looking through December's photos this is the one that jumped out at me along with the word ritual.  What can I say?  It's lucky this is about the connection rather than the quality of the photo!

As I sit here at this early hour, today feels like it will be a good day.  I am already ahead of the game. I am luxuriating in the silence of my house - surrounded by loved ones yet with time to myself.  To write, to think, to make my plans, to drink my coffee.

This photo was taken on my phone for my 12.12.12 time capsule project capturing an ordinary day.  That was a good day too.  Maybe there's something to this ritual thing.

  1. Two photo exercises completed. They're really fun to participate in, aren't they?
Ah yes, the early-morning ritual when all is quiet around us! I like your photo-heart connection and through it can feel that peaceful moment as a new day begins!
I love certain rituals too, they are reassuring and comforting and give us that 'feel good' feeling that embellishes our days. I hope this one will be a good one for you!

  4. Good morning! I love your idea of ritual - those beautiful routines that bring us into the moment. I also love being the only one awake in my house - the silence and quiet so comforting. May this too be a good day.

  5. Love it! Morning rituals, the smell of coffee or tea brewing, the quiet.

For whatever it's worth, I was also awake way way too early today, for no good reason.

  6. There is SO MUCH to this ritual thing. I have the same morning ritual... tea, a journal, a quiet house where my family still sleeps. It grounds me every day that I practice the ritual. I love this image, it does speak of ritual. And for a me, a connection to you, so far away and in a different time zone, doing the same thing each morning. Thanks for sharing in the Photo-Heart Connection, Becs.

  7. It's so nice to have a comforting routine to start the day. I also enjoy being the first one up in the morning and having the quiet time to think and plan. Ordinary days can have many special moments.

  8. I also love this picture and the thought that thousands of miles away we do the same thing. Drink tea, quiet, think, write, make a plan. My really quiet time is late in the evening though, I feel at peace at the end of the day when my family is safe and sleeping right by me. Visiting from PHC, I have been 'following' you leaving my comments today, I am so pleased to have finally 'caught up with you'

  9. If the ritual involves coffee or tea, I'm right there with you. I like the POV from above. I get frustrated with my early wake ups-wishing to sleep in 'til 7 or 7:30, but lately that's not happening. I am embracing the gym at 5 or 5:50 a.m., but then coming home to coffee, breakfast, and me time before work. I suppose that's a ritual as well. Yours sounds better.
