Friday's Letter

Spring is the time for plans and projects
Tolstoy

Dear Spring,

Where are you?  You were so beautiful at the beginning of the week and I did so love seeing Mr Sun again.  I even managed to dry my sheets on the washing line and you know how much I love that.  But now it's cold, grey and wet again.

Please come back.  I do so love you.

Love, Me

Happy International Women's Day and Happy Mother's Day for Sunday (UKers).

Have a good one. x

  1. Spring is such a flirt isn't she? Shows just a bit of "leg" and then hides for a bit. Shy? Maybe. I heard a bird chirping outside my kitchen window at 6:30 a.m. today -- for me? That's a sure sign spring isn't far away.

Wishing you a happy Women's Day -- and a very happy Mother's Day this weekend! xo

  2. Lovely daffodils and grape hyacinths... I hope to see many daffodils when I come to England next week! I don't think I dare look at the long-term weather forecast to see if it's going to rain the whole time!

  3. So, how much pull do you have with Spring? Will she be listening and grant your request to return soon? I'll take whatever we can get. Lovely batch is inside spring in the form of these lovely flowers - that sight will certainly cheer you up.

    1. Haha! No pull at all I'm afraid - forecast is awful for next few days (including snow!).

  4. A lovely photo to accompany the letter to Spring. Having grown up in Seattle, I know all too well the feeling of wanting the sun! Happy Mother's Day to you and a restful weekend with maybe a little sun again. :)

  5. Ooohh, daffodils and grape hyacinths, always the prettiest of combinations. This is a lovely composition Becs and a perfectly fitting quote - Have you seen the Anna Karenina film with Kiera Knightly as Anna? I've dropped a few hints about the DVD and Mother's Day is this coming Sunday; fingers are crossed.

Happy Women's Day for today and a very happy Mothering Sunday to come... breakfast in bed is it??

By the way, your Friday's Letter is a great idea, charming and uplifting. xo

    1. Thank you Elissa. Haven't seen Anna Karenina - hope your hints were heeded. Let me know what it's like (I've heard mixed reviews...).
      Have a lovely Mother's day. :)
