Just Be

Inspired by my yoga lesson today (I finally made it!), these are the wise words that spoke to me today.

Won't you join me?

Take a moment.  Soak them in.  Just be.

And breathe.

Doesn't that feel better?

Happy Tuesday. :)

Hello Monday

Here we again.  Monday.  This week, I'm going back to Martha's KISS advice and keeping it simple (stupid):

Hello to inspiration ( I HOPE)
Hello to lots of outdoor stuff - walking, gardening - I forget how much I miss it until I don't do it and inspiration deserts me.  Got to make time for it this week.  Especially with the gorgeous blooms at the minute.
Hello yoga.  Events conspired against me and I never made it to the first two classes.  This is the week.
Hello to learning something new.  Even if it's just one thing.  Hopefully it will be a lot more than that as I am really behind in my Beyond Beyond classes.
Hello catching up on my reading.  A few great books arrived at the library for me.  Think I'll have to take them off my nightstand and spend some time during the day reading them.  I always feel a bit decadent reading during the day, but I'm doing it in the name of inspiration and that totally counts, especially if I sit outside while I'm reading. ;)

How about you?

Happy Monday.

Friday's Letter

Dear Inspiration,

I am on the look out for you.  You seem to have abandoned me.  Temporarily, I hope.

I had a conversation during the week where I was reminded of the importance of 'filling the well'.

I haven't done a lot of that lately.

I'm sorry.  Can we start again?

Love, Me.

Wishing you a happy and inspiring weekend. :)

Free and Easy Texture Tuesday

This week is free and easy over at Texture Tuesday.

I've been exploring different ways ways of capturing spring and in contrast to the soft, dreamy, film like image I posted yesterday, I wanted to create a bit of contrast with this pretty damson blossom against a dark background.  I really love the detail of the blooms against the black.

Image processed using Kim Klassen texture the veil (which I also used on yesterday's image - I always find it amazing how the same texture can be used to such different effect).

Happy Tuesday to you. :)

Hello Monday

Monday again.  Well last week didn't really go to plan so this week I'm keeping it really short:

Hello sunshine!

I think spring may have sprung. :)

I have a ton of stuff to catch up on.  But sometimes that helps focus the mind.  So, here's hoping.

How are you?

Friday' Letter

Dearest You,

Further to my post on Tuesday, a very sweet reader emailed me this link to a video made by Dove.  It's really, really worth a look.

So you see, be kind to yourself.  You are beautiful.

Love, Me.

Happy weekend.  :)

Texture Tuesday

Today's theme at Texture Tuesday is celebration.   The entry for 12 April in Simple Abundance is about loving and honouring your body, letting go of expectation and the world's ideal of beauty, and celebrating ourselves.  Just as we are.  Learning to live with and love the gifts we have.

It has taken me a really, really long time to do that.   To embrace those imperfections, let go of those expectations and start to create my own niche in the world without conforming to someone else's definition of an ideal.

Today I am celebrating my uniqueness.

How about you?

Hello Monday

Well, hello Monday. You've had a bit of an unexpected start with the Moo not very well on the first day of the summer term. :/

Which has bought us back down to earth with a bit of a bump after a weekend of spring sunshine, a new garden bench........... {mostly for drinking wine on ;) }.................... and some outdoor camp making.

Today I'm saying:

Hello back to school routine....and now a bit of catch up!
Hello yoga - I'm all signed up at a new class
Hello to a bit of focus on all the (many) things I've put off over the last fortnight
Hello detox.  I've even cut myself off coffee. Yikes!
Hello photography - I'm in the mood for a bit of a play
Hello gardening - determined to get a bit of colour in there after a too-long winter.

So, what are you up to?

Happy Monday. :)

Friday's Letter

Dear Fairies,

I am writing to let you know about a new hotel that is opening soon (this weekend, weather permitting!).  As you will see from the clever advertising on the roof, it reads "This hotel is the best hotel in the whole of Fairyland!".  So you don't want to miss out.

I would also like to draw your attention to the health and safety notices - you will see that particular attention has been paid to fire hazard.  The notices read " If there's a fire climb down the ladder but you could use the ivy" and also  "when fire don't use wings!".

I am sure you will agree that attention has been paid to every detail and we look forward to welcoming you to the Fairy Hotel very soon.   Tell your friends too!

Love, Me (and the Moo).

Happy weekend. :)

Hello Monday

Woo hoo, we have (finally) had some of this:

It's still chilly but hard to believe it was snowing four days ago!  I even mowed the lawn yesterday. :)

We seemed to have succumbed to spring colds and have been chilling at home at lot which has been lovely.  A few cosy pastimes going on here:

Embroidery design by Alicia Paulson

Lego Friends for the Moo

Today we're saying:

Hello to the last week of the Easter holidays
Hello to a bit more pottering in the garden and maybe even get some plants in (hopefully....)
Hello to as much outside time as possible
Hello craft - tiny newspapers for the Lego friends are currently being created....
Hello to a play date or two

and maybe, just maybe (whispering it....) .........hello spring.

What are you saying hello to?

Friday's Letter

Dear Disney,

I must say, I was pretty sceptical.  The Wizard of Oz is my all time favourite film so to be honest I wasn't really on board with the whole Oz the Great and Powerful concept at all.  But my 7 year old really, really wanted to see it.  And it was snowing which, I have to be honest, played a big part in my decision making.    I hold up my hands, though.  I was wrong.  It was great.  Really great. We both loved it.  All 130 (!) minutes-except-the-bathroom-break-which-we-missed of it.  Thank you.

It is also the first film I've ever seen where I could see the point of wearing those annoying and uncomfortable 3D glasses. (Annoying and uncomfortable though they were). So thank you for that too.

Love, Me

Have a lovely weekend. :)

Texture Tuesday

Tuesday again....and this week it's free and easy over at Texture Tuesday.  I've had these ranunculus for a couple of weeks and they're still going strong.

It's still cold here but we have SUN and I can't tell you how lovely that is.  Mr Sun arrived yesterday so I had a bank holiday of pottering in the garden and planting some seeds (to keep inside... but still!).  Everything feels lighter now the grey has gone (temporarily, at least).

This week we are enjoying the spring holidays - some outside play (skipping and scooting are the current obsessions), a fairy garden with fairy hotel (!) to make, a cinema trip, lots of reading and Lego making and some projects to plan.

Hoping you are enjoying a bit of sun too and have a happy Tuesday. :)
