Book Love

I love the library and now that I have a pin number and can do pretty much everything online (who knew!) my life has been transformed.

This is what's currently inspiring me:

Quiet by Susan Cain.
I'm going to have to buy this. I think I'm on my third renewal of it.  It is so good.  Quietly empowering and celebrating us introverts.   I keep coming back to it.  I LOVE it.  Susan Cain is my hero.

Granny Chic by Tif Fussell and Rachelle Blondel
I'm a long time reader of Dottie Angel.  Love all the crafty goodness and inspiration.  I feel a bit of bunting for our garden coming on...not to mention a new embroidery idea.

Elevate the Everyday by Tracey Clark
My kind of photography by the master of the genre.  Adore.

It's All Good by Gwyneth Paltrow.
I can't deny it, I was pretty sceptical.  But I've tried quite a few of the recipes and I must say I'm really impressed.  Beautifully presented with fabulous photography too.  Bonus!

How about you?  What's on your bookshelf?

  1. I hear you, Becs! I've never lived near a library before, but now I really love having a library just 20 mins walk form home. :)
Interesting books. "Quiet" sounds great: "The power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking", just brill! :D

  2. Love your image...so soft and beautiful! Also, love your vase. I just finished reading "The Gifts of Imperfection" and have started "One Thousands Gifts." I've had them both for a while on my nightstand. They've been calling my name lately!

  3. these books sound great- I'm ready for a new book. I've been reading Les miserables & i love the story but there are so many sidetracks & it's so long. I'm not sure I'm going to make it! (maybe i should sidetrack to another book)

    1. Wow, kudos for taking on Les Miserables. I've picked it up a couple of times and thought, "wow, that's BIG" and put it back down again! With the exception of Quiet, all of these books have lovely pictures and can be dipped in and out of. ;) x

  4. Oh, I completely agree - being able to reserve library books online is the absolute best - I get an email when they are ready and waiting for me - technology is a wonder :) I am currently reading "The Interestings" by Meg Wolitzer - it's about a group of teenagers who met at summer art camp and the long-term friendships that were the result - I am loving it.

  5. Funny how many of us are introverts. :) I loved Quiet too. And I love the library - we have a beautiful new one here, very modern and nice, though the selection is a bit limited. I know they have online services, but I haven't tried that yet. I need to - I used it all the time back in Maine. Thanks for all the book recommendations - I love it!
