One image, three ways

Sticking to colour again today!  We've been playing around with lightroom, photoshop and textures over at Beyond Beyond and this is my take on the exercise.

Images 1 and 2 were edited in lightroom.  Image 3 in photoshop using Kim Klassen texture anne.

I am always amazed and fascinated by the endless possibilities of editing.

I'm leaning towards number 2 being my favourite...but then I love the vibrancy in number 3 and the sultry summer feel of number 1....

How about you.  Do you have a favourite?

  1. Love the perspective of this shot. It is amazing the difference that can be made with a little tinkering...& I'm sure there are many more things that you can do. I think I like the middle one too- but all so good!

  2. My fav is the last one. And the middle is a good runner up :)
Great shot! Did you use wide angle lens?

    1. Hi Miranda, Thanks so much. I used my 35mm prime lens for this (and lay on the ground at a very odd angle!). x

  3. I love the last one especially since I have a fondness for orange. It makes me happy. But they're all so pretty and love the great POV.

  4. Like you, I love capturing the backlight on delicate flowers; poppies are such a great choice.

  5. Oooh all gorgeous but I love number 3 ...

  6. Oh, what a tough decision! I like them all for the reasons that you mentioned. I think I like the matte look of #2 - really different and quite beautiful.

I know what you mean about all the possibilities of post-processing - one can spend hours trying out different things - the tough part is deciding on a final edit.

  12. I'm leaning toward #2 myself (already thought that before reading your post). The third one has changed it to an entirely different species! That orange color makes it look a lot like a California poppy, one of my favorite wildflowers.

  13. I'd have to choose number 1 for the rich deepness of color and number 3 for the brightness of the sun reflections on the flower. All three very nice though.

  14. No 2 is my favorite, it's very atmospheric, but I actually like all three. Your POV is great!

  15. What fun! I'm just learning to use Lightroom. It's awesome! My favorite is the first one because I like the cooler tones. The vibrancy of the other 2 is beautiful, too!

  16. I love the intensity of the color in #3, and the softness of #2, but the best is that you not only captured poppies, but the perspective you used is the BEST!! :)

  17. I LOVE number 2. The color combination in that one is soft and subtle, yet very inviting. I think that the small peek of the sun in the corner stands out best in this one as well.

  18. Oh, how stunning is this! I love the warm and country-like feel of the third one best I think, but I love something best about every version. I also love the sun in the upper left corner :) Have a great next Beyond Beyond week, Ellen

  19. Love the point of view. I don't think I can pick a favorite, I like them all equally.

  20. The point of view is quite beautiful, but the light through the poppy is so gorgeous. Each edited flower is so beautiful....#3 is definitely a favorite.

  21. Interesting to see the 3 versions. I love the last one best...although they are all great. Not shown together they would each earn their own "WOW!"

    :)

  22. First, I love our POV! That could not have been easy! All three are beautiful in their own way. I keep leaning towards #3. I love the color of the poppies in it!

  23. Terrific shots, spiced up with your post-processing. Each of them is special in their own way, but I favor #2--I think the brightness and extra transparency of the petals is what appeals to me.

  24. Wow! Wow! and Wow!! I like #2 the best.
