August Break

I'm so thrilled that Susannah Conway is hosting the August break again this year.   I've done August break for the last two years and it's a great opportunity to take a little bit of a blog break whilst also staying connected and present.  This year there is a twist as Susannah has introduced a (completely optional) prompts list which I am (mostly) intending to follow along with.  As always with August break the main point is that it's fun with no rules so it will be very much as the mood takes me. ;)

I'll also be following along on instagram and snapping away as things catch my eye when I'm out and about so come and see me there. (Find me @catchingsundust).

What about you?  Fancy a break with a little bit of fun thrown in?  Come and join the party!

The August Break 2013

  1. This photo is beautiful, the essence of a summer holiday! I am going to august break for the first time- occasionally following the prompts, I think- we'll see x

  2. LOVE this photograph, Becs!
    Perfect summertime scene.

  3. I can feel the air in this photograph and the touch of my toes on that grass! Lovely scene you've set! And yes to the August Break -- this will be my second year and I'm looking forward to playing along -- as with you, some prompts I'll follow, others likely not and I'll just do what comes to me as it comes.

  4. I'm also participating in the August Break, and I love how you mention that the purpose is to take a break while still staying connected and present. That's perfectly fits, and is exactly what I'm looking for. Enjoy!

  5. Yep-I'll be joining in as well. I love this image - it perfectly captures the idea of downtime; of a much-needed respite. Here's to the August Break!

  6. Enjoy your August break! I love the open book and sun-hat... my kind of summer pleasure, except that I don't have grass. Darn!

  7. I'm going to try to keep up with Instagram....

  8. Beautiful summer photo! I love all the blues and that lovely quilt! Did you make it? I'm joining August break for the first time. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to handle it. Guess I need to decide before tomorrow!

    1. Thanks Cathy - no I didn't make the quilt - bought it in China a good few years ago now and I love it. It comes everywhere with us! Enjoy the August break. :)

  9. Beautiful image, Becs! I'm also participating this year... on Instagram @keepingupblog :)
