Friday's Letter

Own your Story

Dear Week,

Looking back, I feel like I've been quite unfocused and unproductive.  But many household things have been fixed (mostly not actually by me I will admit, but I have made a lot of cups of tea which totally contributed....) and I have been working on my Unravelling workbook and my Gifts of Imperfection course (including the making up of my Mantra - above).  I also have several bags of parcels, wrapped and ready to be delivered tomorrow which is a good chunk of my Christmas shopping sorted.

So, Week, you weren't exciting but looking back I think I have achieved more than I originally thought.   Next week, however, I am devoting to PLAY.  Decorating, baking, photography, fun with friends. I am feeling the need to make stuff.  Probably with glitter.

'Tis the season....

Love, Me

Happy weekend. Would love to know what your favourite Christmas bake or craft is. :)

  1. Some weeks are like that -- filled with a productivity that isn't necessarily creative but must be done. That then leaves time for play and allowing yourself to simply enjoy the days. Hoping that next week will be like that for you.

As for me and baking...I used to spend hours in the kitchen baking when my children were younger. But one thing I make every year, even if I make nothing else is good old fashioned shortbread!!! mmmmm! Happy weekend Becs!

  2. I hope you have a wonderful time playing next week! Not sure what I'll be doing, but I've earned some fun-time myself!

  3. Love your mantra. I think you got a lot done, that internal work is hard work.

  4. First, love the image and your mantra! Sometimes when we just sit down and list what we've done, it is surprising! I love to bake during the holidays, but my all time favorite thing to do is make cut out sugar cookies with my grandsons. We are messy and have so much fun!

  6. A week devoted to PLAY - now THAT sounds like a plan. Especially with glitter.

  7. A week devoted to play sounds just perfect! I, too, love to bake during the holidays, and Zeno and I are making almond biscuits today. :)
Happy Second Sunday of Advent to you.

  8. Becs, I chuckled at your contribution of "making a lot of cups of tea" -- so English! :-) I'm glad you were able to recognize and give yourself credit for your accomplishments of the week. It does sound like you got quite a lot done. I hope next week will be filled with fun and glitter! (PS - I love your Friday letters!)

  9. It is sometimes the little things that, together, make a big difference. I'm glad a reassessment showed you that more was accomplished than you thought. And the idea of a week of fun...I hope you enjoy every minute. (I'm reserving Saturday for my very own--haven't yet decided what to do, but I can assure you it won't be housework or errands!)
