The bookshop

My book-loving, Harry Potter mad, writing-loving, piano-playing, Lego-loving girl turns 8 today.

We spent the weekend having some fun in London.  Here she is at the bookshop reading the next instalment of Harry Potter.  I had to dissuade her from buying it before she'd received her birthday gifts but I think she would have stood there and read the whole thing if I'd let her.

We also saw the musical Matilda.  If you haven't seen it, you MUST go!  We all agreed it was the best musical ever.

Happy Monday to you and happy birthday to my girl. :)

Photo taken on iphone and processed with the waterlogue app.

  1. Happy Birthday to your sweet girl! Eight is getting up there :) So glad you had a lovely time in London.

  2. I love Harry Potter too- we read all the books ages ago (my kids are a bit older than yours). On our recent holidays Charlie (14) & I watched all the movies again, 1 a night for a week. Such a great story!

  3. My daughter is a Harry Potter fan too.
    Happy Birthday to your daughter!!!

  4. LOVE this watercolor effect! My daughter (who is now 26) grew up with Harry Potter - I took her to two of the book release parties - which kicked off at midnight at the book store - and then she read all night :)

  5. Happy birthday to your daughter! Sounds like you two had a very special weekend! I love to see children that want and love to read!

  6. It sounds like the perfect birthday weekend. And what's not to love about Harry Potter? I think the story itself is fascinating, but what is even more interesting is how Rowling manages to keep children and adults engaged in the stories.

P.S. Yours is the third post I've where I'm seeing waterlogue. I might have to check it out sometime.
