Beauty is.....

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am

The most beautiful photo I have ever seen was a close up of the face of an elderly lady.  A face that was wrinkled and worn and a face that radiated the contentment of a life being well lived.

Her face reflected the beauty of her story.

I pray that my story will be as beautiful.

  1. I love the way you did this: light against the dark and dark against the light. It's a beautiful self-portrait and the quote is perfect. I don't think anyone really likes seeing their face get older in the mirror, though it's inevitable. Like you, I hope to live so that my "life story" looks good on me.

  2. I am sure it will, Becs, and what a lovely post this is.
    Happy day to you!

  3. That's so lovely and such an unusual selfie - your story is bound to be beautiful.

  4. yes, yes, yes, i wholeheartedly agree!

  5. Yes I wish that too. A beautiful sentiment.

  6. yes, I think we all need to embrace the aging journey, it tells a story of us.

  7. Just think about all that face has seen. Amazing!

  8. There's wonderful, thoughtful insight here. Realizing that you want your life story to be beautiful will help you achieve that goal.
