Friday's Letter

Paris

Dear Paris,

You are still so pretty.  It was lovely to be back again.  This time with the Moo in tow.  Fifteen years ago when we lived very near this street, we didn't imagine we'd be back with an inquisitive and energetic 8 year old in tow.

It's a pity that we rather blithely assumed that you would remain the same.  Indeed from this photo you appear unchanged.  An exact photo from my memory all those years ago.  But fifteen years is fifteen years and it seems my memory is not quite as exact as this photo would have me let me believe.  I must, therefore, concede, that the lack of guidebook was a mistake.  Hindsight is probably not a prerequisite in coming to that conclusion.

Dear Paris you are still so lovely and we adored every minute we were with you.  We are calling this our recce trip and will be back later in the year to do it properly.

With a guidebook.

A bientot.

Love, Me

Happy Friday. :)

  9. I would want a guidebook! I wonder if I will ever see this lovely place in person? Oddly enough I don't desire it as others do but maybe that's because it's out of my realm for now? I do enjoy seeing others' pictures of foreign places for sure!

  15. How lucky that you were able to do a "recon" trip to check things out again - re-visiting the Paris of years ago - and make plans to return. Love the Eiffel Tower framed by the buildings.

  17. When I see old buildings like these, I'm usually reminded of the phrase "if walls could talk." If you could detect changes after a 15 year absence, imagine for a moment the changes that have taken place throughout the years those buildings have stood.
