July-books

There's a rather lovely link up at Circle of Pines called the year in books where you announce which book(s) you plan to read that month - hopefully do - and then come back and give your opinion on them.  I look at it longingly every month but lately I've been terrible at finishing anything, including books, so I haven't yet participated.

However, this is the month!  We are going away for a week and I am confident I will get through at least one book.  Especially as it's not too long, ha! I keep seeing rave reviews for The Vacationers so I thought it would be a good one to take away with me - the book is set in Mallorca which is where we're going so I am taking that as a sign too. ;)  I bought the Anne Lamott at a charity shop today because, well, it's Anne Lamott and I've never read anything of hers that I haven't loved.  I read the first chapter in a coffee shop on the way home and I'm feeling pretty confident about finishing that one too.

So there we are.  Click on the link to check it all out - there is a recommended reading list so lots of lovely inspiration.

And I'd love to know, what are you reading?

  1. Looks like you picked a couple of good books to take with you. I took a book on our family vacation and didn't even crack it open! I had too much fun playing with the grandsons! Enjoy your time away! Thanks for the link!

  2. I haven't read either of these books but after reading about Anne Lamott on Goodreads I have added a couple of books to my want to read list. Thank you for bringing this author to my attention. I look forward to reading your review next month. Enjoy your holiday. x

  5. Vacation books - the very best kind! I have "The Vacationers" on the wait list at the library. Can't wait to share your vacation with you via your images.

  6. I'll have to look up both of those books - I adored Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott and think it's one of the best books I've read. Visiting from Circle of Pines, my books are over there on the linky.
