Friday's Letter

Dear Summer,

The appearance of blackberries always makes my heart sink a little.  You are going awfully fast.  Please, please slow down.

We are off adventuring with friends and family.  And then, dear summer, you need to go verrry, verrrrrrrrrrrry sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

I am not ready for September.

Thank you in advance.

Love, Me

  1. Well, I'm looking forward to the end of winter & spring arriving- time goes way too quickly doesn't it? Have a lovely time with family & friends x

  2. If September means fall, and here it most definitely does, I am not ready for it either. :-)
I just love this photograph, Becs!
    Have a great weekend.

  3. I know what you mean by ripening blackberries! Nice capture! I always notice the Golden Rod blooming and know it's that time of the year again! I actually do love autumn very much indeed and prefer the cooler temperatures, but the long days of summer will be missed, until next year!

  4. Oh, Becs, I couldn't agree more! I do love autumn but of course that means the long winter will follow closely behind. Not ready for any of that!

  5. Let me know if summer listens and slows down for you. Lovely image!

  6. Ciao Becs, I couldn't agree more. I have always loved autumn before moving to Scotland, but now I am never really ready for it to arrive. Have fun adventuring with friends and family! :)

  7. I guess it's all a matter of perspective or, more likely, location. Here in central Florida most people can hardly wait for December through March. Right now temps are in the mid-90s almost every day, so winter temps in the 60s and 70s sound like pure heaven. Come next spring, I will be sad to see our cooler weather end while everyone in more temperate locations will be looking forward to warm summer days. So it goes...

  8. Same here, Becs! I'm not ready at all for September, especially as we haven't had a real summer so far! It was much too cold and wet… but I must admit I see signs of autumn everywhere, too...
