About

Hello, I'm Becs. Welcome to Catching Sundust.

About the name. One of my strongest childhood memories is jumping on a pink eiderdown in my grandma's spare room. As I jumped, dust particles danced in the bright sunlight streaming through the window. Through Catching Sundust I hope I can catch some of those fleeting, magical moments that are otherwise lost and through them live fully and creatively, savouring my everyday ordinary.

About the blog.  I started Catching Sundust in June 2011 just as I discovered my passion for photography. I originally started it as a place to put my photographs and find my voice (here's my very first post) as I made the transition from career girl to motherhood. Catching Sundust has gradually grown and developed and has now become the creative space where I share my photographs, writing and creative journey. Photography remains my weapon of choice in noticing, discovering and celebrating the everyday details of my life.

To find out a little more about me and my creative journey you might like to check out these posts:

I have been overwhelmed at the connections I have made, and continue to make, in my journey and this has been a real and unexpected gift. I hope you'll join me in celebrating the ordinary details of our lives, after all:

Because it's our ordinary, we believe it's everyone's ordinary. It is not.

And I'd love to connect with you too, so please feel free to email me: catchingsundust[at]gmail[dot]com

I live in the UK and am happily married with an eight year old daughter, the Moo, who features here from time to time.

  2. Becs - I totally love your "About" page. It is so perfect. I have a feeling I will have to do a few drafts and revisions before I get exactly what I want, but you have nailed it.
